12:33 am	well its been forever since ive posted but this is going to be quick. Im finding it highly amusing as to how a sex scandal on capitol hill can escalate so quickly...everyday former congressman Foley's scandal seems to get bigger. What tommorow? 5:06 pm	grrr Well it would seen that bush is going to have a lasting legacy on the supreme court, due to today with the confirmation of Alito to replace the moderate-swing voter Jusice O'conner. The Court, the sole remaning indepedant body, is no longer free of republican control and is tainted for years to come. The Court will soon unfortunately take a rightward swing, to appear the right and roll backs rights and privallages that are cherish......This is a scary day in recent history and I fear what is to become of this Supreme Court...hopefully no other justices retire soon. 1:42 pm	well well welll I have to say..i havent posted in a while but this is fairly important. it would seen that the Republican party's culture of corruption if finally starting to catch up with them..Recent the once powerfull conservative republican lobbyist jack Abarmoff pleaded guilty to two charges in his invetigation and is expected to plead guilty to another. He also agreed to cooperate with the authorities to investigate the scandal even further and his help is expected to implicate as many as 20 congressman and aids.........even funnier a good majority are to be republicans....it would seem that many powerful republicans have numerous connections to the fallen lobbyist..including our dearly hated Tom Delay....now there is a rush on capitol hill to donate his contributions to charitiers...I have to say though that i think its a lil to late for that.....It would seem as if 2006 is looking better and better for democrat's and their election prospects....it would even seem that tom delay is also losing his grip on power in congress with growing calls for his permanent removal from his leadership post and new elections to be held...His relection prospects in his district also seem to be going against him....man isnt it odd...how it took democrats 40 years to get so corrupt and scandal ridden...where as it seems republicans are racking scandals up in record time...within only a decade have they accomplished what it took democrats 40 years....hmmm... 4:22 pm	Rick Santorum Wow, Ive got to say, the level of GOP hypocrisy has risen to new heights........The Illustrious Rick Santorum, republican senator from Pen. or as Paul Begala called him today "Neanderthal" Santorum comapred the democrats in the senate to hitler and the nazi's.. Here is a direct quote: "What the Democrats are doing is "the equivalent of Adolf Hitler in 1942 saying, 'I'm in Paris. How dare you invade me. How dare you bomb my city? It's mine.' This is no more the rule of the senate than it was the rule of the senate before not to filibuster." The audacity of Santorum saying such a thing is outrageous. Was it not he who attacked Democratic senator Robert Byrd for making similar comments, comparing republicans to nazi's changing the laws to make illegal activity legal....In case no one recalls what santorum said in regard to that comment let me remind yall: "Senator Byrd's inappropriate remarks comparing his Republican colleagues with Nazis are inexcusable," Santorum said in a statement yesterday. "These comments lessen the credibility of the senator and the decorum of the Senate. He should retract his statement and ask for pardon." Is that not great hypocrisy if ever seen? He says such a thing to a democratic senator, but no more than 10 weeks later, he feels that he is allowed to make such a comment. Now I am curious, to whether as a republican that he feels he is allowed to say whatever he wants regardless of its level of hypocrisy but he must attack someone from the other side for making the same type of comment. He has not even apologized for the comment. He only even issued a statement expressing regret for his comment after much public outcry and criticism. Let me ask you Santorum , are you on such a high ground that you feel entitled to say such things? 6:54 pm	Republican Stupidity Well damnit it, I just wrote this whole damn post and it was damn deleted so here is my attempt to rewrite it. Well this is my First Post(again) The Republican leadership never fails in its amazing stupidity. It has becomes increasingly apparent that the "Nuclear Option" will be going down soon. The arrogant grab for power by the Republican party, utterly astounds me in everyway. Senate Majority leader Bill Frist has said that he is preparing to bring Nominees Brown and Owen to the senate floor this week. He has declared that if a fillibuster is threathend by the Democrats that he will have no other choice but to move the change the senate rules. He claims that he wants to return to the senate to the way it use to work before the bitter partisanship of the last 5 years. He has indicated that by removing the ability for Democrats to fillibuster that will be accomplished.. So let me get this straight, he wants to bring the senate back to the "good 'ol days" by destroying the only check of power on the republican party.....I doubt that will occur. He claims that for 200 years, before these "horrible democratic obstructional" fillibusters that senate ran smoothly without such things..Thats completely untrue, for those 200 years fillibusters have always existed and been used. A Prime example is the republicans themselvs, they used the fillibuster numerous times during the clinton administration. Not to mention that of clintons judicial nominess, over 60 were never confirmed. The republicans made sure that they were bottled up and dissappeared. Democrats have failed to confirm 10 of over 200 of bush's nominess. Over 95% of them confirmed, does that sound obstuctional to anyone? Most definitly not! Democrats are trying to force Bush to nominate moderade judges that will not impose their ideology on their judicial actions. They refuse to allow any right-wing radicals on a bench for life. So perhaps my Frist should not appear so hypocritical on this issues. Secondly, Frist and other GOP leaders claim that Judicial activism is becoming a rampant problem among judges. One right-wing nutjob, went as far as saying that so called "activist judges" were more dangerous than a few guys running planes into buildings. Now, that may not be word for word what he said but its close enough. Now if u ask me, I dont know if it just me, but I dont think judges are quite that dangerous....anyway Republicans claim that judicial activism is responsible whenever a ruling that displeases the evangelicical right comes down. They cry fowl and blame the judges, mostly republican judges many of the times. Yet at the same time if judges were to hinder the civil rights of gays and the like, republicans would cheer their greatness....its ridiculous... Thirdly, its the blatent grab for power that disturbs me the most.....It is not enough that they control 2 out of 3 three branches of the government, but they want more. They control the executive and the legislative branches and now they want the only independant hold out of power. That is shamefull. The Judiciary is suppose to remain independant of politics, yet the right-wing has made it increasingly apparent that they want complete power. Are they so drunk with power....that they must grab for more? The Republican establishment truely, actually does already holds the judiciary but not to such a extent as the rest of the government. 58% of all judges are republicans. So truely they control all branches of governemnt, but the judiciary has managed to keep politics out for the most part. Republicans are enraged by this, giving gays their due rights, amounts to judicial activism.... I have a feeling that in 06 and 08 they will feel the backlash of their actions. If they succeed in changing the rules, Democrats will deal out a much earned government shut down that republicans will be responsible for....Perhaps having a parallel between newt gingrich and the republican wave that swept in, perhaps the wave will now sweep them out this time. Terri Schiavo and the fillibsuter will slap republicans in the face....Lets see how it turns out. (Comment on this)
